Interdisciplinary historian (University of Texas at Austin) will discuss why she included Dr. Seuss’s children’s books in her anthology.

This two-day conference includes lectures by distinguished scholars, dialogue, and a roundtable discussion with students, alumni, and faculty on two core questions: Are Dr. Seuss’ children’s books racist? Should the Dr. Seuss enterprise have removed any of his books from circulation?

This public event is sponsored by the Department of English and Creative Writing, the MALS Program, the Ted and Helen Geisel Chair in the Humanities, and Dartmouth Dialogues. Professor of English , the Ted and Helen Geisel Third Century Professor in the Humanities and author of the influential biography Theodore SEUSS Geisel, is hosting the conference.
